Varietals: Merlot 60%, Cabernet 20%, Cariñena 20%
Aged in 500 litre French oak barrels for 12 months.
History: The vineyards were planted with different varietals of grapes for centuries for a market of proximity. At the present time, the winery’s production of Samas is limited to 3000 bottles from hand harvested, exclusively organic grapes.
Soil: Chalky soil, poor in organic material, small yield.
Hand harvested, with fermentation in 500l French Allier demi-muids barrels. In deposit and maceration for 24 days. Malolactic fermentation in demi-muids barrels. Crianza for 12 months in demi-muids barrels.
Tasting: Deep purple colour with dark cherry colour. The smell is rich and complex: ripe fruits and hints of dense and earthy flavours, from the long oak ageing, lead naturally to discovering rich supple tannins strong in flavours and infinite length in the mouth. Capable of ageing and of carafeing prior to service.
